Chez Sami

The end of August Sami needed a babysitter for one week while she was waiting for school to start. It was the end of a very busy summer for her. She had traveled with her Aunt Dawn and cousins to the Grand Canyon and San Diego. She had been to camp. So what could be better than a week at home with Grandpa and Grandma to babysit. We were very glad to be of service. Since Sami and Emily are in Texas, we don't often get the opportunity.
What did we do? Well, when "Nana" comes (Sami and Emily call us "Nana and Papa"), we bake, of course.

These look great. Bon appetite!
We also played games and made all kinds of interesting things with Sami's "Bendaroos". We got very creative, from flowers to bees, to a jailhouse for the animals. There was plenty to do:

like practice gymnastics and walk the dog,
and take sister Emily to the zoo,

and eat popcorn at the movies,
and play at the splash pad and color with Papa,
But it wasn't all just fun and games. There was work to do. Nana needed help with the laundry, and Papa and Dan needed help rebuilding a portion of the cabinet in their new home so their television would fit. Sami knew exactly what needed to be done.

Did I mention Sami's new house? It is much closer to her Dad's work so they get to spend more time together. Here is what it looks like:

And while we were there a new pool was being constructed in the backyard. We get to try it out next summer, but heard the family has recently been having a lot of fun swimming in it.

And since Papa always has a camera close at hand, there was plenty of time for posing for pictures.

We are sure going to miss our "lil Texas gals"!!!!
