On St. Patrick's day weekend, Rollie and I visited our daughter Andrea's family in Los Angeles. It was a very rainy weekend, unusual for LA, but we had a lot of fun. Jack had bought a dinosaur puzzle at a museum and was anxiously waiting for his Grandpa to arrive so they could put together all 1000 pieces. We were barely in the door when he brought out the puzzle and was ready to go. It was a challenging puzzle, so help from his mom was allowed. Jack is a puzzle maniac. He loves them. When he gets bored with the puzzles at home that he already knows how to do, he does them from the wrong side.
I have a fascination with the current vogue of decorating cupcakes. I have a whole board on pinterest dedicated to cupcakes. However, I never bake them for us. Rollie is not a fan of cake, and I don't need to eat them all. Visiting the grandchildren is a good excuse, though. Being St. Patrick's Day, we made cupcakes for the occasion.

If you click on the picture above, you will notice the white around Jack's lips. He seems to be a big fan of frosting, which we discovered was the only part of the cupcake he wanted to eat. Ella, below, is putting the finishing touches on the cupcakes. She loves to bake.
Et voila, le resultat!
What to do on a rainy day after the baking is all done? Go to a museum of course. Robert took us to a car museum that was just what Grandpa was sure to enjoy. Jack liked the firetruck. I liked a silver Rolls Royce, and Rollie liked the Bugatti.
In the evening, Robert and Andrea went to a movie and we babysat. Jack decided to play Star Wars with a broom, until Grandpa took it away from him as he was getting a little carried away.
Ella wanted to join in the fun.
Without the broom, Jack put on his Clone trooper costume. This was a better alternative to the broom.
Ella is still getting into the act. She has on one of her many, many hats which she changes frequently. She seems to have vanquished the enemy.
AuRevoir!
Andrea has a beautiful family! How much fun you and Rollie must have had to visit with those sweet grandchldren and their parents :)
